About
- Overview -
Cloister is a top-down, turn-based RPG that's currently being developed.
The project started in late April of 2025.
The game is being developed in Godot 4.4.1, and as far as the current
scope goes, will remain as such.
There is only one developer, and that is myself. My name is Edin, and my
intention with creating Cloister is to grant myself a medium wherein I
can freely apply my enjoyment of producing visual arts, music, and writing.
That being said, I still intend to present an engaging experience, so the
gameplay will also be a major part of the final product.
I'm also the one programming the game, but I personally don't find much enjoyment in
this particular aspect. More on this below.
- Art -
The development of Cloister's art is that of a mixed media approach. At its core, it lends heavy inspiration from games like DOOM and Mortal Kombat, with most of the main assets being physical sculptures that have been posed, photographed, and imported as sprites. Other assets are 3D scenes of mine.
In the case seen above - with the game's currently only playable class - the Mariner, the sculpture is mostly clay.
See his class selection icon below.
